Authorizing Change Order #1 with Heitkamp, a Division of Michels Corporation, for the Broadway Road & Georges Rd Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Body

              WHEREAS, the Township Council authorized a contract with Heitkamp, A Division of Michels Corporation, for the Broadway Road and Georges Road Sewer Rehabilitation Project in the amount of $370,584.00 by way of resolution dated December 13, 2016;  and

 

              WHEREAS, Alaimo Associates, the consulting engineer on this project, requested in a letter dated June 20, 2017, approval of Change Order No. 1, increasing the contract by $12,807.00, for a total contract amount of $383,391.00; and

 

              WHEREAS, the Utilities Supervisor, in a memo dated June 22, 2017, recommends approval of Change Order No. 1; and

 

              WHEREAS, funds are available for this purpose and a certification of availability of funds has been provided by the Township Treasurer from Account  #08-215-15-2515-811 by Joseph P. Monzo/jmb; and

 

              WHEREAS, the Department of Law is satisfied that said certification is in proper form; and

 

              WHEREAS, the Township Manager has certified that the changes in this request for Change Order are within the scope of activities of the original contract and not for the purpose of undertaking new or different work or projects and that the proposed Change Order is allowable under Local Finance Board and Division of Local Government Services Regulations;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED on this 25th day of July, 2017, by the Township Council of the Township of South Brunswick, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, that:

 

1.              The Township Council hereby approves Change Order #1 with Heitkamp, A Division of Michels Corporation, for the Broadway Road and Georges Road Sewer Rehabilitation Project.

2.              The amount of this change order results in an increase of $12,807.00, for a total contract amount of $383,391.00.

3.              This expenditure shall be charged to Account # 08-215-15-2515-811.
